Muhammed Yusuf Khan
So here is a trailer of a movie that never got completed...
For some reason that can't be revealed, a member of the TMNT(MMNT) has been named 'Muhammed Yusuf Khan'. He on the other hand didn't like the name at first. So I thought it was my job to enlighten him, what a cool name this is and that there was a 'Muhammed Yusuf Khan' in the Indian history, and that it was even almost a Movie. So hope you like this bro...enjoy!
Maruthanayagam Pillai was born 1725 in the village of Panaiyur, in Rammnad 'country' in a Hindu farming family of the Pillai Vella caste. Being too restless in his youth, he left his native village, to make a living as a domestic hand at the residence of the French Governor Monsr. Jacques Law, in Pondicherry. It was here he befriended another French, who later became captain of the French force under Yusuf Khan in Madurai.
Yusuf Khan's military career started during the Carnatic Wars. He became a mercenary and fought alongside the French in the siege of Arcot in 1751. Robert Clive, impressed by the charges Yusuf Khan led against the battlements of Arcot, recruited him — and Yusuf Khan put his Nellore sepoys and cavalry at the disposal of the English. Over the next decade, as the Company fought the French in the Wars of the Carnatic, it was Yusuf Khan's guerrilla tactics, repeatedly cutting the French lines of supply, that did the French in, particularly during Lally's siege of Madras in 1758. Lally was to later describe the role of the Nellore Subedar's sepoys in these words: "They were like flies, no sooner beat off from one part, they came from another."
Under Major Stringer Lawrence , he was trained in the European method of warfare and his natural talent in military tactics and strategy blossomed to its full potential. By 1760 he had reached the zenith of his career as the 'all-conquering' military commandant. (A few years earlier he had been given the rank of 'Commandant of Company's sepoys'). His greatest supporter during this period was George Pigot, the English governor in Madras.
Yusuf Khan was held in very high esteem even after his death by the English and in their opinion he was one of the two great military geniuses India had ever produced; the other being Hyder Ali of Mysore. Yusuf Khan was regarded for his strategy and Hyder Ali for his speed. Major General Sir. John Malcolm said of him almost a fifty years later,"Yusuf Khan was by far the bravest and ablest of all the native soldiers ever to serve the English in India".
Tamil actor Kamal Haasan and SirErshad Raja and Mohan Rao - renown writer and thinker did "Maruthanayagam" portraying this character in English, French, and Tamil languages.Director by Raghavendar Rao and Music by Shivarama kirshnan.But for various reasons shooting for the movie has stopped.

You will be missed...
It's been a long, long weekend... For those of you who don't know, my paternal grandmother passed away on Thursday. After all the bickering, the wake was set for three days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Me being the night bird I am, volunteered for the night shift. It was an interesting three nights... I got to see sides of my cousins, uncles and aunties I've never seen before. The stories which were shared, the reminiscing, the antics which we resorted to trying to stay awake three nights running, all the while remembering and honoring the memory of Amachi, as everyone called her. I admit, I don't have many memories of her as I was raised by my maternal grandmother and far closer to my mum's side of the family. But the memories I do have are of her always smiling and telling stories. I've had my arguments, but then again didn't we all? But when I saw her on her deathbed all was forgiven and forgotten. I admit, it broke my heart, seeing this small, petite woman, who singlehandedly raised 6 children after grandfather's death. Here's to you granny, rest in peace, You will be missed...Till next time, Our thought for the day,

We're 1!!!
It's hard to believe that it's been a year since M.T and I started this blog. We may not be the most prolific of writers, but hey! We get by. :) Let's recap... It's been an eventful year. New friends made, bad hats dropped. Shared laughter, wept tears, lost loves, awesome sex :P, drinks shared among friends and family, watching the antics of Cyrus so vocal all of a sudden. Where does all that time go? Well, here's to another year of blogging and sharing our lives with u. And to all of our 10 readers, thanks for taking the time!
